Board of Supervisors joins with the San Rafael
Chamber of Commerce
COMMENDING
S A B O R
O F S P A I N
SAN RAFAEL CHAMBER
OF COMMERCE SMALL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR - 2007
WHEREAS, each year,
the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce recognizes
distinguished businesses and agencies for their
contributions to San Rafael’s economy, culture
and community; and
WHEREAS, Sabor of
Spain has been honored as the San Rafael
Chamber’s 2007 Small Business of the Year. Sabor
of Spain has made diverse contributions to the
City of San Rafael, most notably by bringing an
international and cosmopolitan vision to San
Rafael with the launch of its European
“Vinoteca” in the heart of downtown; and
WHEREAS, Sabor of
Spain has significantly contributed to the
beautification of downtown San Rafael, creating
a destination with a European flair, and
enhancing businesses in the area of C and D
Street. The beautification efforts have
increased the demographic mix of the consumers
that visit San Rafael, has fostered the
emergence of new businesses and has encouraged
upgrading of existing business facilities to
bring a more sophisticated look to the city; and
WHEREAS, Sabor of
Spain brings customers from all over Northern
California, and sponsors cultural events, adding
to the vitality of the business community; and
WHEREAS, Sabor of
Spain is also a stable and fair employer of 22
individuals, offering competitive wages and
training; and
WHEREAS, this
outstanding business has supported over 30
community, nonprofit and educational
organizations, providing financial donations,
hosting events in the restaurant, and more; and
WHEREAS, Sabor of
Spain has received other honors, including the
San Rafael Chamber’s Customer Service Award and
diverse food industry awards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE
IT RESOLVED that the Marin County Board of
Supervisors joins with the San Rafael Chamber of
Commerce in celebrating the presence of Sabor of
Spain in the City of San Rafael, and does hereby
commend this outstanding business for its many
contributions to Marin.
